A precision instrument for measuring text.

Paste or type into the box and the numbers move as you go: words, characters with and without spaces, sentences, paragraphs. Nothing to submit, nothing to wait for. It's built for the moment you're trimming an essay to a limit and you'd like to know, right now, how far over you are.
Beyond the basic counts there's reading and speaking time, a readability score, and a keyword density view that shows which words you lean on most. If you're writing for a specific place, the character-limit preset next to the box lets you pick the platform and watch the remaining count shrink instead of doing the arithmetic yourself.
The tabs under the toolbar handle the chores that usually send people to a second site: change the case, clean up stray spaces and line breaks, find and replace, or look back at an earlier version of what you wrote.
Your text isn't sent anywhere, it's counted right in your browser. If a school or publisher counts words differently (some skip headings or the bibliography), paste only the part they count.
