Where this comes from

Duration and resolution are read from the video element's own metadata — the same information your browser uses to size the video player — so it's accurate without needing to decode the whole file. Frame rate is estimated by sampling a couple of frames when the browser exposes that timing.

Nothing leaves your device

The file is never uploaded. Everything shown here is read locally, straight out of the video you dropped in.

Why does frame rate say "estimated"?

Browsers don't expose an exact frame rate through the standard video APIs, so it's inferred by timing a short sample of playback. It's usually accurate to the nearest common rate (23.976, 24, 25, 30, 60, etc.), but treat it as a close estimate rather than a value read from the file's container metadata.

What if some fields show as unavailable?

Some details — like codec name or bitrate — aren't exposed by every browser's video element. When a field can't be read this way, it's left out rather than guessed at, so what you do see is accurate.
