Enter a URL and find out which CMS it's built on, WordPress, Shopify, PrestaShop, Drupal, Joomla or Moodle
Most CMS platforms leave predictable fingerprints in their public HTML, file paths like /wp-content/ or /sites/default/files/, a "generator" meta tag naming the platform, an embedded JavaScript object like Shopify's Shopify.theme, or a distinctive response header. This tool fetches a page once, then checks it client-side against known signatures for six platforms and shows you exactly which piece of evidence matched for each one, not just a bare verdict.
How to use it:
Tips: a custom-built site, a headless CMS, or a platform not in this list will correctly show no match, that's not a failure, it just means none of these six platforms' signatures were found.
WordPress, Shopify, PrestaShop, Drupal, Joomla and Moodle, six of the most common publicly-identifiable CMS/e-commerce platforms.
The platform with the most matching signals wins. A tie, or every platform showing zero matches, is reported as "no confident match" rather than guessing.
Each platform has its own convention, WordPress themes live under /wp-content/themes/<name>/, Shopify exposes an embedded Shopify.theme JavaScript object, and Drupal/Joomla/PrestaShop/Moodle generally reference a /themes/<name>/ or /theme/<name>/ path. If none of these appear, the theme is reported as not found rather than guessed.
The page is fetched once through our server so your browser doesn't hit cross-origin restrictions. All signature analysis then runs in your browser against that HTML, no separate analysis request is made.
