How this works

The audio is decoded to raw samples, sliced to the exact start and end points you set, and re-encoded as a fresh WAV file, a sample-accurate cut rather than an approximate one.

Nothing leaves your device

Decoding, slicing, and encoding all happen locally in your browser using the Web Audio API, the original file is never uploaded anywhere.

Why does the output download as WAV?

WAV is written directly from the decoded samples with no re-compression step, so the trimmed section keeps the exact quality of the original, there's nothing to lose in translation. If you need a smaller file afterward, run the result through the Audio Converter tool to export it as MP3.

Can I trim more than once?

Yes, each trim you export is added to the history list below, so you can pull several clips out of the same file without re-uploading it, then compare or download whichever ones you need.
