The short version: ToolPeti has no user accounts. We use Google Analytics to count page visits, and it never receives the text you type into a tool. Every tool currently on the site runs entirely inside your browser: the text you type or paste is never uploaded or stored by us. We only keep a few small preferences (like theme and language) on your own device. Third-party services (Google Analytics, Google Fonts and, in the future, ads) are described in section 4.
1. Information we collect#
ToolPeti does not have user accounts, sign-up forms, or a database. We do not knowingly collect names, email addresses, payment details, or any other personal information through the tools on this site.
Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) may automatically log standard technical data such as IP address and browser type for each request. That logging is done by the host, not by code on this site, and we do not use it to identify visitors.
2. How tools process your files#
Every tool on ToolPeti runs in JavaScript inside your own browser tab. When you type, paste or open text in a tool:
- The text stays on your device and is processed locally by your browser.
- Nothing is uploaded to a server, and no copy passes through ToolPeti at any point.
- Closing or refreshing the tab clears the tool's working memory. Nothing is saved on our end because nothing was sent to us.
One tool, Image to Text, loads an open-source text-recognition library from a public CDN (see section 4); the image itself is still read locally and is not uploaded.
3. Local storage & cookies#
ToolPeti's own code does not set tracking cookies (Google Analytics does set its own cookies, see section 4). It uses a few small pieces of browser local storage, entirely on your own device, to remember your preferences:
- Theme preference — the color theme you choose from the header's theme picker is remembered under the key
toolkitStudioTheme, so the site opens in the same theme next time you visit. - Language preference — the language you pick in the header is remembered so the site opens in it next time.
- Favorites and recently used tools — tools you star (
toolkit_favorites) and the last few tools you opened (toolkit_recent) are kept so they can be shown back to you on the home page and in search. - Individual tool preferences — a few tools remember their own small settings (for example your last-used options). Each follows the same rule: stored only on your device, never transmitted, and clearable the same way.
These values are stored only in your browser and are never transmitted anywhere. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this page.
If ads are enabled in the future, the advertising cookies described in section 4 would be set by Google, not by this site's own code.
4. Third-party services#
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit the site and which tools are popular. It collects page views, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived, using cookies. It does not receive the text, files or any other content you enter into a tool. We do not use it to identify individuals. Google's own policy is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking analytics in your browser.
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser makes a direct request to Google's servers, which may log standard technical details such as your IP address, as with any web request.
The Image to Text tool loads the open-source Tesseract.js library from the jsDelivr content delivery network. Your browser fetches the library directly from jsDelivr, which may log your IP address; the images you work with are processed locally and are not sent to it.
The site includes an optional "Buy me a coffee" link. It is an ordinary outbound link; nothing is shared with that service unless you click it and use it, in which case its own privacy policy applies.
Advertising. Ads are currently turned off. We may enable Google AdSense in the future to cover running costs. If we do, Google and its partners may use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve and measure ads, and this page will be updated first. Google's policy at policies.google.com/technologies/ads explains how that works, and you can opt out of personalized ads at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices.
5. Data retention#
ToolPeti has no database and no user accounts, so there is no personal data or text content for us to retain, back up, or delete. The only data this site stores longer-term is the browser-local preferences listed in section 3, which live solely in your own browser until you clear them.
6. Children's privacy#
ToolPeti is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from any visitor in the first place.
7. Changes to this policy#
If this policy changes — for example, because ads are enabled or a new tool needs to send data somewhere — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will change accordingly. Checking back here occasionally is the best way to stay informed.
